காயாரோகணசுவாமி கோயில், நாகபட்டினம்
Kayarohanaswami (shiva) and Neelayadakshi Amman Temple located at Nagapattinam District in Tamilnadu. The main deity is Lord Shiva and Amman Neelayadakshi. The idol of Thyagaraja made of precious blue stone called lapis lazuli and the eyes of the amman Neelayadakshi (அருள்மிகு நீலாயதாட்சி அம்மன்) also blue in color.
This temple built on South indian temple style that is Dravidian Architecture. Pundarika Munivar rose to holiness with his human body, henceforth Kaya Aarohanam. The name Nagappattinam is accepted to have been gotten from the legend that of Adiseshan loving Shiva there. Adiseshan’s girl is accepted to have hitched Saaleeswaran, a fan of Shiva.
The picture of Tyagarajar at Tiruvarur is the chief of the 7 from which Indra is accepted to have asked Muchukunda Cholan to pick the first picture of Somaskandar adored by Mahavishnu. Muchukunda Cholan is accepted to have picked the correct one (the picture at Tiruvarur), and Indra is accepted to have compensated him with the entirety of the 7 pictures, which the last introduced at 7 better places inside his domain, and it is these 7 sanctuaries which comprise the 7 Vitankastalams.
Similarly, as with the other 7 Saptavitanka hallowed places, there are independent altars for the moolavar, Tyagarajar and Ambal. There is a shrine to Sundaramoorthy Nayanar and Paravai Nachiyar over the corridor from Tyagar, particularly along the lines of Tiruvarur close by Nagabharana Vinayakar and Maavadi Vinayakar are the names of Vinayakar here. The Deva Theertham is toward the South of the sanctuary while the Pundarika Theertham is toward the west. Neelayadakshi’s place of worship here is of incredible criticalness. The bronze picture of Panchamukha Vinayakar is worth notice (as in Tiruvarur and in Vedaranyam). There are a few engravings identifying with the time of Dutch standard at Nagappattinam, in this sanctuary.
Tirunavukkarasar describes the feature of the deity as:
