Kapaleeshwarar temple
Kapaleeshwarar temple is the traditional heritage familiar temple in R.K mutt road Chennai, Mylapore. Lord Shiva is the main deity in this temple as kapaleeshwarar with his consort Parvathi as goddess karpagambal who is adored lord Shiva by having peacock structure that’s why this place named as Mylapore (mayil arparikum oor).
As mentioned in puranams, kapaleeshwarar temple history is Lord Shiva cut off one of his head (kapalam) to demolish his ego, then lord Brahma established Shiva lingam in Mylapore is called kapaleeshwarar temple.

Valeeswarar temple
Valeeswarar temple is located in G.N Chetty Road, Mylapore, and Chennai. The highlight of Valeeswarar temple is the rays of sun fall on the lord in (April-may) month. The main god is Lord Shiva as Valeeswarar and goddess Parvathi as periya nayaki ambal and they are facing west side. To get away from the curse of the lord of Hanuman who worshipped Lord Shiva, Valeeswarar is of the gods.

Adikesava Perumal temple
Adikesava Perumal temple is a Vishnu temple situated in Perumal street in Mylapore,Chennai.lord Vishnu is named as a Kesava Perumal and Lakshmi as mayuravalli thayar.this temple is constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture.the temple is believed as a birthplace of periyazhwar.it is believed that goddess Lakshmi is a girl child of sage bhrigu, then Adi Kesava has married mayuravalli thayar.
